Sebastian Pineda

Tiempo Extra Soccer Development Founder

Coach Pineda, a San Andres Islas, Colombia, native founded Tiempo Extra in 2020 at the peak of the Covid-19 Pandemic as a way to give players the ability to keep building their skills during lockdown.

Pineda played Soccer professionally in 2015 and 2017 for FC Tucson in the PDL (Professional Development League) and then rejoined the club in February of 2022 as the Head Coach of the Pro Academy and as the Assistant Coach of the First Team during its USL League One campaign. Pineda took over as Head Coach of the First Team at the start of their second season at the USL League Two level, reaching the USL League Two national semifinals in Peoria, Ill and bringing home the Western Conference Championship to Tucson. Pineda will begin his third season as Head Coach in May 2026.

Previously, Pineda also served as the University of Arizona Womens Soccer Assistant Coach (2023-2025). In his first season with the Cats, he helped guide the squad to six victories, three of which came in conference play. Arizona drew, 1-1, with No. 11 USC during league competition. With Pinedas assistance, eight different players scored goals and goalkeeper Hope Hisey (FC Tucson Women Alumni) was the 46th pick in the NWSL Draft by the Kansas City Current. She was the second player in program history to be chosen in the draft.

Pineda also served as an assistant coach at Duquesne University for one year. He assisted Duquesne to a 10-7-2 finish in the 2021 regular season. He previously was the assistant coach at his alma mater, NAIA institution Graceland University, for three seasons. He assisted Graceland to the Atlantic 10 Championship and helped guide the Dukes to three consecutive Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament appearances.
